The responsibilities of the Laboratory Coordinator position in Biology Central Services are discussed below.

 

Overview:

    The Laboratory Coordinator and staff manage all aspects of the laboratory component of introductory (100's), as well as in some undergraduate upper level (200's) and graduate (300's level) laboratory courses (primarily in the Department of Molecular and Cell Biology).  This includes lab scheduling, lab preparation, maintenance of supply inventory, maintenance of equipment in working order, and ongoing review of lab exercises.  In addition, the Laboratory Coordinator is responsible for assuring proper functioning of research-specific infrastructural systems such as autoclaves, distilled water, and the Rees Environmental Alarm System.
