The Laboratory Supervisor administers all non-instructional laboratory functions for the 100's level courses (Biology 102, 103, 107,108, and 110). This involves the management, preparation, and supervision of these high volume introductory biology laboratories.

The duties of the supervisor include; training and supervision of staff and graduate teaching assistants, lab scheduling, maintaining supply and equipment inventories, preparation, collection, and setup of laboratory materials, ordering of supplies, reagent preparation, and equipment maintenance. The supervisor conducts weekly organizational meetings, assists in the production of new laboratory exercises, lab manuals, and pre-tests all laboratory exercises. The supervisor assists the faculty in the selection, evaluation, and modifcation of laboratory exercises for Biology 100's courses.

The supervisor works closely with the faculty of EEB, MCB and PNB involved in these courses, as well as many staff members in BCS, EEB, PNB, MCB, the Greenhouse and the Collections Facility staff. This network is essential to coordinate the use of facilites and materials required in these courses and to provide assistance to other departments (MCB, PNB) as needed.

The 100's Laboratory Support Staff consists of Karen Lombard, Mary Manning, Joe Olesweski and Serena Graham.
